Jumi Akinfenwa is a London-based music supervisor, writer and strategist. With a background in sociology and culture journalism, she applies a research-led and nuanced approach to her work, leaning into projects that tell human stories and champion marginalised communities. 

Notable music supervision credits include Black British drama feature 'The Kitchen', directed by Daniel Kaluuya and Kibwe Tavares (Netflix, Film4), young adult romance 'My Fault: London' (Amazon MGM, 42) and sports TV documentary series 'Break Point' (Netflix, Box To Box Films), and she has worked with companies such as Le Labo and SXSW London on their music strategies.

Jumi’s writing has been featured in publications such as The Guardian, VICE and gal-dem and in 2020, she was named one of MHP’s 30 To Watch 2020 in the Culture, Entertainment and Lifestyle category, one of PITCH Magazine’s Superpeople, and she was also listed as a Black British Woman Making Music Moves by shesaid.so. In 2024, she was selected as one of the PRS Power Up Year 4 cohort.
